At first, Bharadwaj and Kapoor were in talks of making a spin-off of their blockbuster film, Kaminey. After more talk on the other hand, Bharadwaj chose to rather deliver an alternate of Shakespeare’s plays. He chose to either do King Lear or Hamlet, deciding to adjust the recent because of the political interest and history of Kashmir and also the play’s sexual conflicts.
Kapoor, alongside Bharadwaj and UTV Motion Pictures each one have a 33.3% offer in the film. A huge piece of shooting of the film was carried out in Srinagar in Kashmir which began on 8 November 2013. The last calendar of shooting for “Haider” started in Kashmir in January 2014.Bhardwaj has apparently guaranteed J&k Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that the film would have nothing to damage the neighborhood sensibilities and the political aspirations.The shooting was finished by 24 February 2014,Tabu is assuming the part of step-mother of Shahid in the film.
